Custom AI Solutions
Custom AI solutions, built around your problem - not around a product I am trying to sell.
Most people arrive knowing AI should be helping somewhere, without knowing whether they need an agent, a chatbot, a retrieval system or plain automation. That is the right place to start from. We work out where AI actually pays off in your operation, pick the smallest thing that proves it, and build that first.
What it is
A custom AI solution is one designed around your workflow instead of your workflow being bent around a product. It might be an agent, a chatbot over your documents, an automation that removes a manual step, or a full application with AI at its core - the shape follows the problem.
The starting question is never "which model?" - it is where your operation loses time or money, whether the data to fix it exists, and whether AI is genuinely the cheapest fix. Sometimes it is not, and I will say so on the call rather than sell you a build.
You work with me directly throughout: the person scoping it is the person building it, so nothing gets lost between a sales conversation and delivery.
What you get
Built for production, not a demo
A straight answer on fit
Whether AI actually solves your problem, and what the cheaper non-AI fix would be if one exists.
The right shape for the job
Agent, chatbot, retrieval system, automation or full application - chosen against your problem, not a fixed toolkit.
A scoped plan and a fixed quote
Architecture, build sequence and price agreed before any code is written.
The whole product, not just a model
The AI core plus the backend, the interface and the deployment around it - everything needed to actually use it.
Production standards from day one
Monitoring, logging, access control and runbooks, so your team can operate what you paid for.
Handover, not dependency
It ends with your team able to run and extend it without me. No seat licensing, no lock-in.
How it works
From first call to production
Understand the operation
Where the time goes, what data exists, and what a fix would actually be worth to you.
Pick the smallest proof
The narrowest build that proves the value, so you are not betting a large budget on an assumption.
Build and ship it
Designed, built and deployed end to end, tested against your real cases rather than a demo dataset.
Measure, then expand
We check it moved the number it was supposed to move before widening the scope.
Proof
Real systems, shipped
Live products I designed and built end to end - the clearest signal I can build yours.
PiperQL
Built for a real bottleneck: teams waiting on an analyst for numbers. Now they ask in plain English and get the data and the chart.
NirixAI
A full AI product of my own - retrieval, multi-model routing and streaming, taken from idea to production.
Tim Edge
A complete platform, not just a model: broker integrations, real-time streaming, background workers and AWS deployment.
FAQ
Questions clients ask
What counts as a custom AI solution?
Anything built around your workflow rather than bought off a shelf: an AI agent, a chatbot over your own documents, an automation that removes a manual step, or a full application with AI at its core. The shape is chosen after we understand the problem, not before.
We are a small business - is custom AI worth it for us?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no, and I will tell you which on the call. If an off-the-shelf tool already solves your problem for a subscription fee, that is the honest answer and it costs you nothing to hear it. Custom is worth it when your process is genuinely yours, or when your data is the advantage.
How much do custom AI solutions cost?
It scales with scope, so I quote it fixed after a scoping call rather than quoting a range that means nothing. We usually start with one narrow build that proves the value before expanding.
We have an idea but no technical team - can you still help?
Yes, and that is most of this work. You bring the problem and the domain knowledge; I bring the architecture, the build and the deployment. You do not need a spec or a CTO to start.
How long does it take?
A narrow first build is typically weeks rather than months. Larger platform work runs longer, and I will map the sequence so you can see what lands when instead of waiting for one big reveal at the end.
What if AI is not actually the right answer for us?
Then I say so. I would rather lose a build than ship something you did not need - it is the reason the engagement standards on this site talk about handover instead of dependency.
